Category Manager-Contracting and Capital
A Category Manager with a strategic edge is needed in Grantham for a 6-month interim job. This role, based in a public sector environment, requires someone to ideally start in the beginning of December although there is flexibility. This is a multi-site operation so possession of transport and ability to travel as and when within Lincolnshire is desirable.
This job requires you to be part of a small contracting team seeking to ensure that new and existing areas of expenditure are submitted to appropriate procurement processes to deliver cash releasing savings opportunities to the trust's directorates.
You will undertake projects covering both medical and non-medical commodity areas, achieving the best possible value for money; contribute to the delivery of cash-releasing savings set out in the departments annual work plan and/or business plan (or equivalent); maximise all opportunities for collaborative procurement projects and maximise the efficiencies and the delivery of cash releasing savings.
The job requires a Category Manager who is adept at developing good relationships with suppliers and decision makers, bringing innovation to the team, which will facilitate the effective procurement of a broad range of good and services, ensuring that dealings with suppliers comply with statutory requirements and ensuring full compliance with obligations under the EU Procurement Directives.
The ideal Category Manager will have similar previous procurement experience and continually strive for best practice, bringing innovation and more effective ways of working
